Cookie Policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the date above always reflects the latest version.

1. Who we are

This policy explains how cookies are used on softwareup.io, a website owned and operated by Softwareup Solutions SRL.

Softwareup Solutions SRL is registered in Buzău, Romania, at Buzău, Romania, Paltinis, 3, with sole registration code (CUI) 39838011 and trade register number J2018000908103. We refer to ourselves below as “Softwareup Solutions,” “we,” or “us.”

If you have questions about cookies that this policy doesn’t answer, write to us at contact@softwareup.io.

2. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. It lets the site remember your actions and preferences over time, so you don’t have to re-enter them on every page or each return visit.

Cookies can’t run programs or carry viruses. Most simply recognise your browser or device — not you by name — and help the site work the way you expect.

3. The main types of cookies

By how long they last:

  • Session cookies exist only while you’re browsing and are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies stay on your device for a set period (or until you delete them) and are read again on your next visit.

By who sets them:

  • First-party cookies are set by the website you’re visiting (us).
  • Third-party cookies are set by another provider whose service we use — for example, our analytics tools. Those providers apply their own privacy terms.

4. How we use cookies

This is a presentation website. We don’t sell anything here, we don’t run advertising, and you don’t need an account. We use cookies for just two purposes:

A. Strictly necessary cookies. These keep the site working and remember basic choices, such as your response to the cookie banner. They can’t be switched off in our systems. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the site may then behave unexpectedly. These cookies don’t require your consent.

B. Analytics and performance cookies. These help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages get attention, where people arrive from, and where they run into friction — so we can improve it. The data is used in aggregate. We set these cookies only after you give consent, and you can withdraw it at any time (see section 7).

For analytics we use two third-party tools:

  • Google Analytics (Google), which gives us anonymised, aggregated statistics such as page views, time on page, and traffic sources.
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft), which gives us heatmaps showing aggregate click and scroll patterns, plus recordings of individual browsing sessions. Clarity masks sensitive input fields such as passwords, and we review these recordings to find usability problems — not to identify anyone.

5. What information do these cookies access?

Cookies on this site typically identify the browser and device you’re using, not you by name. That said, some identifiers cookies use can count as personal data under the GDPR, so we treat them with the same care.

The analytics data we receive from Google and Microsoft is aggregated and statistical. For full details on how we handle personal data and the rights you have, see our Privacy Policy.

Because Google and Microsoft operate globally, analytics data may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Both companies rely on recognised safeguards for these transfers, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses; the links in section 9 lead to their full privacy terms.

6. Cookies used on this website

Cookie names and durations can change as the tools are updated, and the exact set depends on your configuration. Verify against your live site before publishing.

7. Managing cookies and withdrawing consent

When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept or refuse analytics cookies — the site works fully either way. You can change your mind at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, or by clearing cookies in your browser, and we’ll stop setting analytics cookies from that point on.

You can also manage or block cookies directly in your browser settings:

  • Google Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Microsoft Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
  • Apple Safari — Settings/Preferences → Privacy

For the analytics tools specifically:

Blocking cookies entirely may affect how some parts of the site work.

8. Updates to this policy

We may revise this policy as our site or the tools we use change. The date at the top always shows the latest version, so it’s worth checking back occasionally. If we make a significant change — such as adding a new analytics tool — we’ll ask for your consent again through the cookie banner rather than assume you agree.
